The World of FOIA and Government UAP Document Sources

At first glance it might seem like a simple task. If you want to see documents made available on the UAP topic from the government, just search for “government FOIA UAP” and voila! The one link you need.

In reality there are dozens and dozens of FOIA archives hosted by various U.S. government agencies, by other governments and by non-governmental entities. It can be confusing and difficult to find the bulk of them. Here we consolidate over 30 archives from various U.S. Government agencies, other governments around the world and a variety of non-governmental sources such as The Black Vault.

The scope of this section extends to both FOIA’ed government documents and other publicly available government documents on the UAP topic.

Note that we also have a section of publicly available research archives on the UAP topic that contain other historical information on the UAP topic in our Data Repositories Hub. That section includes such facilities as Rice University’s Archives of the Impossible, which houses the Jacque Vallee and Whitley Steiber collections.

You can find all of our UAP FOIA Repositories at our UAP FOIA Repositories Hub.

About Our FOIA Taxonomies

In order to help you navigate the various resources in this section, we’ve created two categorizations to help you understand the sources we list.

FOIA Agency Type

Here we simply inform you of the type of entity with which you are dealing:

-> NGOs - Non-governmental organizations

Access Conditions

This categorization informs you of any access limitations such as registration requirements or fees. There are few that are not free and only some that require any form of registration. There is at least one that requires on site access. This is usually because the document set in question is not yet digitized. There is at least one archive that is only accessible to those who have used that archive to submit a FOIA request.
