Editorial and AI Policy

Editorial Policy

Editorial Standards & Oversight

At the UAP News Center, our primary commitment is to the accuracy and integrity of the historical and scientific record regarding Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena (UAP).

Human-Led Curation of Database Items

Every database entry published on this platform is subject to human oversight. Our founder personally reviews and verifies all content to ensure it meets our standards for objectivity and historical context. We do not publish unvetted “leaks” or rumors without clearly labeling them as uncorroborated intelligence.

UAP News

The UAP news listed on the front page of the website and in the UAP News Archive, represents and attempt capture all of the most widely available and discussed English language UAP news and content published on that day. On the day of publication, assertions frequently cannot be proven or disproven. None-the-less, we present all of the key topics of the UAP news daily in the hopes that responsible researchers will capture the un-truths and correct the public record. Additionally, we wish all of this information, true or untrue, to be recorded in our UAP News Archive for future research. Unvetted news does not get propagated into other areas of research database.

Independence & Neutrality

The UAP News Center is an independent entity. We are not affiliated with any government agency, military branch, or political organization. Our mission is to provide non-partisan research, material and tracking of governmental and scientific developments.

Editorial Integrity & Transparency

Human-Led Oversight

While we utilize advanced tools to monitor global news feeds and perform research related tasks, we maintain a strict Human-in-the-Loop editorial policy. Every analysis published on this platform is curated and verified by human researchers to ensure ethical judgment and historical context.

Non-Partisan Research

We are an independent entity. Our sole allegiance is to the data and the pursuit of scientific and legislative transparency. We do not represent any government agency, aerospace corporation, or political faction.

Correction Policy

Accuracy is our highest priority. If a record is found to be inaccurate due to new data or misinterpretation, we will issue a formal correction. Each correction will be noted at the top of the relevant post to ensure transparency and maintain the trust of the research community.

AI Policy

In an era of rapid technological advancement, we utilize AI tools to assist our research, but never to replace human judgment.

Responsible Use of Generative AI

  • Research Assistance: We use AI for data synthesis, transcription activities, and the collection of research material.

  • Translation & Accessibility: AI helps our team read and review relevant non-english source material. (e.g., Brazilian military records or GEIPAN files) by providing initial translations.

  • Prohibition on Fully AI-Generated Content: We do not use AI to “write” articles or analysis. Analysis on this site is crafted by a human researcher. We strictly prohibit the use of AI to generate speculative sighting summaries or to “fill in gaps” in incomplete data.

Integrity of Visual Media

We occasionally use AI generated images in two forms.

  • To designate a “headline article” on the homepage when an abstract concept such as “consciousness” best represents the subject of the news article
  • To “decorate” a page or a page section, with an attractive, eye-catching graphic.

In all cases when we generate AI imagery, we clearly identify that imagery with the label “Generated Image”.  Additionally, our infographics section contains clearly labeled educational infographics.

We never use AI to support factual assertions in any way.

Data Vetting Standards

To maintain the integrity of our Specialized Intelligence Database (Labeled Research Database and Policy & Intel in the top menu), we utilize a tiered vetting system to categorize incoming information.

Tier A: Institutional Grade

  • Origin: Official government, military, or academic sources (e.g., AARO, NASA, NARA, Galileo Project).

  • Verification: Corroborated by multiple sensor modalities (Radar, FLIR, Optical) or sworn testimony from trained observers.

  • Status: Considered “Fact of Record.”

Tier B: Professional Analysis

  • Origin: Established civilian research groups (e.g., SCU, Sol Foundation) or professional investigative journalism.

  • Verification: Requires peer-review or documented chain of custody for evidence.

  • Status: High-confidence intelligence requiring ongoing verification.

Tier C: Anecdotal Intelligence

  • Origin: Unverified civilian reports, social media leaks, or anonymous witness accounts.

  • Verification: Lacks multi-sensor corroboration or secondary vetting.

  • Status: Archived for historical tracking but not cited as scientific evidence.
